About the Rhode Island Umpires Association
The Rhode Island Umpires Association (RIUA) was formed by umpires James Morrison and Paul Giarusso to insure that our members would have the best opportunity to umpire all levels of baseball in Rhode Island. The Rhode Island Umpires Association has since contracted with professional umpires from rookie ball to the major leagues to train its members. This comprehensive training separates the RIUA from any other organization. The level of experience and training is by far the best that Rhode Island ever had. Our members are trained by the best in baseball! The long term success of our organization is backed by the desire of our umpires to be trained and receive qualifications to reach each level of baseball. The existing membership will continue their umpire education on a yearly basis and all new recruits will be trained before the step onto the baseball diamond. In a game where we all strive for excellence, the Rhode Island Umpires Organization is the perfect pitch
